Whether your thing is tigers or puppets, this wonderful piece of Steiff history will do your collection proud. If you can bear to give him up when he arrives, the Steiff collector in your life will be absolutely delighted.
OK, his vital statistics having been dispensed with, I can tell you about his condition. His chest is a little darker than it probably was when he left Giengen. I don’t think the darkening is all that serious, since his chest is very close in color to that of the tiger puppet who lives in my vitrine, who I always thought of as near mint. The main reason for downgrading Tiger’s condition is the smattering of small and light stains he has on his chest. I am giving you a big view of that in my sixth image, and I am pointing with arrows to the most noticeable and biggest stain, but even it is not much bigger than a pencil eraser. I am guessing that Tiger accompanied his former young guardian to the dinner table.
When the Detroit Tigers played in Kansas City Tuesday night, they were greeted by two especially enthusiastic fans, a man decked out in a tiger suit and his tiger puppet.
