Over the years our family has had dozens of baby floats and none of them are as easy to transport and inflate as the SwimWays Baby Spring Float. Within minutes I had the float floating and I wasn’t even winded from blowing it up!
While we continue to work with our preschoolers, our youngest son is experiencing the water for the first time. Baby Boy (age 1) is learning about the SwimWays Baby Spring Float by playing with it indoors with his dolls, and watching it float in our friends’ pool. He isn’t fond of the cool water yet (her pool is still a chilly 73 degrees), but he did enjoy pretending it was a boat and watching it float. I think observing the float in action, touching it, and getting to understand what it is has helped prepare him for his first real use. (If you have a young child who is a “thinker”, I suggest easing him/her into the float by letting them explore the SwimWays Baby Spring Float before you head to the water.)
The Baby Spring Float™ from SwimWays® supports and protects young children as they are introduced to the water, keeping them comfortable and happy as they enjoy the water with you. Giving you the same stable, secure safety of the original Baby Spring Float, this floating baby seat also includes a three-position canopy with mesh panels that blocks more than 90% of harmful UV rays from above. Like the original, your baby sits in a low seat harness centered inside two separate air chambers for a stable and secure float that lets babies safely get in the water with the rest of the family. Recommended for ages 9-to-24 months. Imported.
Manufacturer model #: 11606.
Are you familiar with SwimWays products? They have baby floats, kick boards, life vests, and other swim gear, designed for each stage of learning to swim. SwimWays is committed to educating parents and kids about water safety and the benefits of learning to swim. Accordingly, they started in 2012. Every year as swim season begins across the country, parents, caregivers and swimmers of all ages are encouraged to raise awareness of the importance of learning to swim. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4. We can all help decrease this statistic by teaching our kids to swim and practicing water safety. This year, the National Learn to Swim Day is May 21st. For my family, this will mean launching our swim season with a review of what the kids learned in swim lessons last year. Followed by lots of fun swim time!
Meanwhile, the little guy will continue to acclimate to the water in his SwimWays Baby Spring Float. He can kick his legs, splash with his hands, and become familiar with the concept of being submerged in the water. As you can see in the pictures, he was cold! He didn’t last long in the water, but as things warm up this season, we will definitely be back in the water in our float!
